A new scheme has been launched to give unemployed people in the Doncaster access to free training to help them get a job.

Employment and skills experts Working Links is delivering the Flexible Fund programme on behalf of the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund.

The programme gives people in South Yorkshire aged 19 or over, who are currently unemployed, access to free accredited training in a number of sectors including retail, warehousing, security, construction, health and social care, customer service, hospitality, administration, ESOL, maths and English.

Training, which lasts between one and 16 weeks depending on the subject, takes place at centres across the Doncaster.

Jamie Cottrell, performance manager at Working Links, said: “Our courses are designed to enhance careers and can lead into apprenticeships, further learning and full and part-time work.”

Although only available for unemployed people, prospective learners do not need to be claiming benefits to enrol on the courses.
