A FINANCE expert is aiming to help people by offering free advice at council-run centres across the borough.
Sue Holmes of Blackberry Finance Solutions is holding the confidential meetings to help people manage their cash and cope with debt at opportunity centres in Askern, Bentley, Balby, Bentley, Denaby, Edlington, Intake, Mexxborough, Rossington and Woodlands, as well as The Base in Marshgate in Doncaster town centre.
She said: “I find that people are generally confused about finances and the advice given by the media.
“Also, quite often this is given over the phone. They appreciate an informal face to face chat in a relaxed environment, where they can discuss any concerns they have.
“This enables me to gain a clear picture of their current circumstances and what they want to achieve.
“Everyone is individual and unique; therefore any advice or suggestions should be tailored to their personal situation.
“Offering debt related advice is just one aspect of our service.
“Where possible, we help many families reduce their routine family expenditure by recommending simple changes that make a significant difference to the amount left over at the end of each month.
“The positive effects of small changes can grow over time and help clear debts sooner, help balance the family budget, help plan for the future, and much more.”
