Chamber boss Dan Fell told the audience that more businesses entered this year’s awards than any previous year.
The chamber’s chief executive officer said there had been a 10 per cent increase in the number of firms putting themselves forward in awards categories compared with last year.
Mr Fell added that there was also a high demand from businesses wanting tickets to attend on the night.
He said: “This year we received a larger number of entries to the awards than ever before. I am delighted to say that this includes entries from small and large firms alike, and also from a wide variety of industry sectors. It is also great to see so many firms buying into the spirit of this event, celebrating success and banging the drum for business excellence here in Doncaster.”
He also gave thanks to everyone who had made the awards ceremony possible and added: “I need to thank our headline sponsors, Origin Broadband for their contribution to tonight, along with our other commercial sponsors, and also our media partners, the Doncaster Free Press. I need to thank the people that really make tonight happen, the absolutely brilliant team that I am proud to lead at the chamber.”
