Bridge collision sparked rail delay

A MAIN route for commuters delayed because a lorry collided with a bridge is back up and running.

Passengers were at a standstill on a Doncaster train to Leeds following the collision which happened near the station in Fitzwilliam.

The incident meant a train to Leeds had to be diverted to York whilst maintenance work took place at the bridge.

A spokesman for East Coast Rail confirmed the service was back up and running and no further delays along that route have been reported.
