Police investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Barnsley have arrested a man on suspicion of robbery and murder.
The body of Andrew Kelly, aged 51, was discovered when officers were called to a property in Victoria Street, Goldthorpe, on Wednesday, December 2.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “While the results of an initial post mortem examination proved to be inconclusive, further tests are still being carried out and the incident is being treated as suspicious.
“A 29-year-old man from Barnsley was arrested yesterday, Thursday, December 10, on suspicion of robbery and murder. He currently remains in police custody.
“Mr Kelly’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.”
