ARSONISTS set fire to a derelict house last night.

The two-storey mid-terrace Hexthorpe property was “well alight” by the time firefighters came to the premises in Hexthorpe Road, a fire spokesman said.

Two crews from Doncaster and one from Edlington took over an hour to put out the blaze which was started in the ground floor of the property just before 9.30pm.

The spokesman confirmed the fire was started deliberately, leaving the property badly damaged.
