It has turned out plenty of winners in the past – but Doncaster’s Northern Racing College could have one with a difference.

That is because one of the Rossington-based school’s former pupils is hoping to be first past the winning post in the latest series of Big Brother.

Teenager Nick Henderson has revealed he spent two years at the college, which trains youngsters for the horse racing industry.

The 19-year-old told fellow contestant Joel Williams how he had hoped to become a jockey and attended the Northern Racing College for two years.

Nick, who claims he is ‘too loathable’ to win, entered the show alongside 15 other contestants.

After being expelled from two schools, the unemployed youngster also claimed his friends use him to get to high places.

In an interview, he said getting into the Big Brother house was the best achievement he have ever done.

He said: “I got expelled from two schools, that was an achievement.

“I haven’t achieved much but hopefully this will be the start.”

A college spokesman said they could not comment on Nick’s involvement in the high-profile Channel Five show, because of the Data Protection Act.

Nick’s Doncaster connections mean he is the second contestant in the current series to have links to the borough.

Also taking part in the show is 25-year-old Chloe Wilburn, from Balby.

Chloe was the first contestent into the house, telling the public as she went in that she had not told her grandfather of her involvement in the show, and warning he would have ‘a dickie fit’.

Originally from Bentley, her first words inside the house were greetings for her grandad, Doncaster, and Bentley.

The Northern Racing College opened in 1984 and describes itself as being the Northern Centre of Excellence for the British Racing Industry.

It is one of two dedicated training centres in Britain accredited by the British Horseracing Authority.

Both Chloe and Nick survived the first eviction on the show last week when one unlucky contestant was shown the door just an hour after he walked up the steps into the famous house.

Simon Gross, also known as Mr Showbiz, was booted out after he pulled a pin on a Big Brother ‘timebomb’, which sealed his fate and ordered his first-night eviction.
