Autism charity’s gym is on-track

WORK on a gym for a Thorne autism charity is planned to start next month.

Autism Plus scooped £50,000 from the National Lottery’s Big Lottery Fund through the ITV’s Peoples Millions grant programme.

The charity, which empowers people with autism and other complex conditions, received the cheque for its Get Moving! Project in November last year which was shown on ITV’s Calendar programme.

The money will be used for an on-site gym, including equipment and bicycles for Autism Plus Clients.

The centre based in Field Road, provides a range services for people with autism and other complex conditions including mental health problems and learning disabilities. Services include adult learning, community outreach support, residential services and employment support.
