HELP is to be offered to charities and voluntary groups in the Thorne district after a £200,000 fund was set up.
The South Yorkshire Community Foundation (SYCF) has launched the fund which will make grants to voluntary, community or faith-based organisations that can make a significant difference in the borough.
Pauline Grice, chief executive of SYCF, said it anticipated a high level of applicants for the grants.
She added: “Through SYCF, the Legacy Fund will be distributed to groups and projects that form the bedrock of community involvement and grassroots action.
“We are looking forward to inspiring local people to see what they can do to benefit their local area with the help of a vital cash grant.
“We anticipate that the funding will be in extremely high demand and would urge groups to get in touch to discuss their project as soon as possible.”
Groups are urged to get in touch with the organisation as soon as possible to discuss their projects.
