Mexborough will be full of festive cheer over the next few weeks as the festive lights are set to be switched-on followed by extended shopping hours.
The button will be pushed at 5pm on Saturday, November 26, to light up the High Street with an array of bright festive illuminations.
The switch-on ceremony will be preceded by a full day of family fun.
From 11am onwards shoppers can expect to see a wide range of stalls, raffle games and carol singing.
There will also be fairground rides and magic shows for younger visitors, while adults are welcome to sample a mulled wine from The Old Market Hall pub.
The Kidz Du Care youth group will be performing a dance show from noon.
Father Christmas and his helpers will round off the festive fun day by leading a procession at 4pm from The Old Market Hall down to the town centre for the lights switch-on.
Following the event a number of businesses have pledged to stay open later in the busy Christmas shopping season.
Around 30 shops will be staying open until 8pm from November 30 and then every Wednesday in the lead up to Christmas.
