An homecoming evening showcasing four short films from Doncaster based film-maker Peter Samson will take place at Cast next week.

The short film event will take place at Cast’s Second Space on Wednesday March, 26 at 7.45pm.

Peter Samson is a painter turned film-maker whose work was first shown at the London Film-Makers Co-op in 1978, and since then Peter’s work has been seen across Europe and in major cities throughout the UK.

The idea for this evening has run alongside the development of Cast and is something of a homecoming event for an artist who’s displayed work at Barcelona Festival, Madrid Festival as well as Leeds and London-Films Festivals.

The programme consists of;

- Graded Games: An absurd catalogue of pastimes; children’s games and adult sports, fencing, shooting, archery and gymnastics.

- Theatre of the Mundane: A look at the latent theatricality of human movement in public spaces: ‘People make their exits and their entrances according to an unconscious choreography where every pause and every gesture has significance…’

- The Factory: A reconstruction of a daily ritual on the shores of the Cromarty Firth and Theme and Variations shot in Leeds railway station over a two year period.

The evening will conclude with an informal question and answer session.

Tickets cost £6.50 or £4.50* with concessions and are available from Doncaster Ticket Office on 01302 303 959 or castindoncaster.com.
