Retail bosses have confirmed 70 new jobs will be created at a new B&M store in Doncaster Town Centre set to open this summer.
The finishing touches are currently being made to the B&M Home Store at the former Tesco site in Church View which will open on Thursday 6th August at 9am.
Sue Harriman, Store Manager at B&M Doncaster Friars Gate said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Doncaster. We’re really proud to be creating another 70 jobs this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.”
Representatives from Doncaster-based charity Firefly will carry out the ribbon cutting at the opening event.
Firefly and their seven seat vehicles known as ‘Firefly Expresses’ take cancer patients and their families living in the Doncaster area to over 100 appointments in Sheffield every week.
The charity was nominated by the store colleagues and will receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for ‘cutting the ribbon’ to officially mark the opening the store.
Joanne adds: “We are excited to get the doors open on Thursday 6th August and honoured to have representatives from Firefly cutting the ribbon to officially mark the opening of our new store”.
The new store follows hot on the heels of the B&M store opening at the Danum Retail Park which also created 60 jobs last year.
