Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s newest resident Victor is set for a day of celebrations to mark International Polar Bear Day.
The event will take place tomorrow at the Doncaster park with a focus on fundraising for the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation’s work with conservation and welfare for polar bears.
YWP has created Project Polar, a ten-acre purpose built reserve as a dynamic initiative for conservation, welfare and research.
The first bear, Victor, who was retired from the European breeding programme, arrived the Park in August last year and has settled in well.
Staff will be wearing white to show their support for the conservation of these magnificent animals in the Go White for Polar Bears fundraising drive which starts tomorrow and will continue until November in International Polar Week.
Supporters are encouraged to dress up in white and donate £1 to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation’s Project Polar appeal.
All money raised will go to the Project Polar Appeal of Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation, whose vision is a better world for wild animals. Visit www.yorkshirewildlifeparkfoundation.com
