ONE Direction have done something even The Beatles never achieved - going straight to number one with their first album in America.

The record-breaking boyband, which includes Doncaster popstar Louis Tomlinson, have made history after seeing their debut album Up All Night fly to the top of the US charts - making them the first British band to achieve such a feat.

The clean-shaven quintet - made up of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and our very own Bessacarr 20-year-old Louis - sold a massive 176,000 copies of the record.

Following the news, Holmes Chapel teen Harry said: “We simply cannot believe that we are number one in America.

“It’s beyond a dream come true for us. We want to thank each and every one of our fans in the US who bought our album and we would also like to thank the American public for being so supportive of us.”

The boys shot to fame in 2010 after coming third in The X-Factor.
