From conventions to comedy and musicals to memorabilia - the Doncaster Dome has all entertainment bases covered heading into summer.

The first weekend in April will see the leisure venue play host to three very different events.

Yorkshire singer Chantel McGregor, who trained at the Leeds College of Music, will kick off Friday April 4 with her award-winning rock and roll and blues sound. She will return to the Icebreaker Bar to play in front of another full house.

Also at The Dome that night will be ‘menopausal musical’ Hot Flush! starring Birds of a Feather actress Lesley Joseph. After five sell-out tours, the ‘naughtiest musical in town’ will be hitting Doncaster for one night only.

Just a day later, The Dome will be filled with music once again for The Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular. The show, on Saturday April 5, will include a trio performing a tribute to the world-famous Rat Pack and an orchestra playing some of the hits from the mid-60s. Featuring the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr, the spectacular show has been running successfully for more than a decade.

May sees the return of the Geeks Unleashed convention. Following the success of last year’s show, this one-of-a-kind event will bring memorabilia, collectables and special guests on May 4 - International Star Wars Day - to The Dome.

The following month sees yet another show returning to satisfy Doncaster’s ‘inner geeks’ when Return of the Ninja Pudd - Yorkshire Cosplay Con 6 is held on Saturday 14 June. An

‘action-packed family-friendly convention’, the event brings together sci-fi, anime and alternate entertainment with more than 45 stalls, live shows, workshops, role-playing games and special guests.

Head of commercial development for The Dome, Chris Hone, said: “We have such a variety of shows coming to Doncaster in the coming months - I really think we have something for everyone.

“Whether you’re looking for comedy, music or somewhere to unleash your inner nerd - look no further than The Dome!”
