A touch of decadence, glitz and glamour will come to Doncaster later this year as a pub lays itself bare with a risque burlesque show.
Tawny Kay’s Theatre of Tease will come to The Glasshouse in Kirk Sandall in March – and showgoers are set to enjoy a troupe of scantily clad performers featuring a host of big names from the world of burlesque.
The line-up includes Diva Hollywood, Lady Wildflower, CeCe Sinclair, Bobbie Dazzler, April Lindsay, Tawny Kay and Heidi Bang Tidy in a colourful carnival of cabaret and entertainment.
Lady Wildflower and Heidi Bang Tidy are the organisers of one of the biggest UK burlesque festivals outside of London, The Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival, which is now in its third year.
The last festival hit the headlines after local councillors would not allow the use of The Picture House venue in the West Yorkshire town after branding burlesque “demeaning.”
However, the festival still went ahead with a troupe of international award winning burlesque performers.
Spokesman Tawny Kay said: “Burlesque is empowering and celebrates diversity and I am proud to be fetching that to Doncaster.
The show will take place at the Doncaster Road pub on March 7, with doors at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
