A Doncaster rapper has said performing at a Mixed Martial Arts event on the same bill as music star Professor Green is his “perfect gig”.

Jonathan Yerrell, better known as Jay Mya, will be taking to the stage in his hometown when the Keepmoat Stadium hosts the Legends of MMA event next month.

The borough-based singer/songwriter has supported a variety of top names such as Example, Chipmunk and The Kaiser Chiefs.

He will be one of the main acts alongside rapper Professor Green, Yorkshire band The Sunshine Underground and the Educatables in front of an expected bumper crowd of thousands on July 27.

The event has been billed as the biggest fight and music show in the UK this year with some of the country’s finest fighters on show including former Ultimate Fighting Championship legends Neil Wain, Ian Freeman, and USA veteran champion Ken Shamrock.

“I am really looking forward to this event. As a music and sport lover, this has to be the perfect gig for me,” Jay said.

“It’s also a great pleasure to perform on my home turf.”
