One of the biggest bands of the 90s Britpop scene are to rock into Doncaster later this year.
Liverpool guitar favourites Cast have announced a date at the town’s Diamond Live Lounge as part of a huge UK tour to mark their reformation and new album.
Led by former La’s star John Power and formed in 1992 from the ashes of that band as well as fellow Scouse favourites Shack, Cast scored ten top forty singles between 1995 and 1999 with hits such as Finetime, Walkaway, Flying and Live The Dream as well as three massive selling top ten albums.
The band went their separate ways in 2001 but are now back together and putting together new music as well as hitting the road once again.
They are set to release a new album to tie in with the nationwide tour later this year.
Said John Power, who launched a solo career before reforming the group: “Getting back with the band and working with producer John Leckie again after all these years apart was just how I envisioned it when I started writing the songs for this album.
“Then it was all about putting into words what it was I was feeling, about all the things I was seeing all around me and troubled times is what we found.”
The band will appear at the Wood Street venue on June 27 and tickets are priced at £17 and are available at www.diamondlive.co.uk
