The Scary Bikers, starring the BAFTA Award-winning duo of John Godber and Jane Thornton.
The dynamic duo visit Cast from Thursday April 26 to Saturday April 28, as part of a UK tour, following the Scary Bikers’ premiere at the Theatre Royal in Wakefield.
The drama is produced by The John Godber Company and Theatre Royal Wakefield and it is of course written and directed by John Godber. The Scary Bikers is a brand new comedy all about love, life and staying on your bike.
When a retired miner Don (John Godber) and a former private school teacher Carol (Jane Thornton) meet up together at a bereavement group they both attend, they thought they had found a new beginning.
However, a bike ride through Europe begins to test their budding romance and the road to love is a rocky one when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
With its themes of finding love after loss and also of the ongoing impact of the Brexit vote, Don and Carol travel their way across Europe as they reconcile the past, debate the present and worry about the future.
This is a roller coaster of a bike ride with comedy thrown in.
Whether they are on their bikes and saddle sore in Southampton, whether they are blistered in Bordeaux or frazzled in Florence, one thing is for sure – it takes two to tandem.
Starring the double BAFTA and Olivier Award-winning partnership of John Godber and Jane Thornton.
