Rise in visits to A&E at Doncaster hospitals

NHS England figures show 16,819 patients visited A&E at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in May.
That was a rise of six per cent on the 15,824 visits recorded during April, and 46 per cent more than the 11,491 patients seen in May 2020.

Hide AdThe figures show attendances were above the levels seen before the coronavirus pandemic – in May 2019, there were 15,608 visits to A&E at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Trust.
The majority of attendances last month were via major A&E departments – those with full resuscitation equipment and 24-hour consultant-led care – while 22 per cent were via minor injury units.
In May 80 per cent of arrivals were seen within four hours in Doncaster, against an NHS target of 95 per cent; 716 patients waited longer than four hours for treatment.
