More Doncaster schools send pupils home as Covid-19 cases escalate

Secondary schools and primary schools have sent children home to isolate in recent days with the number of schools across town affected rising.
Here’s the latest on the situation at several Doncaster schools.
MCAULEY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

Hide AdYear 9 pupils have been told to stay at home for the rest of the week after a number of linked cases.
Students can return on Tuesday 3 November.
A spokesman said: “We wish the pupil affected a speedy recovery. Please contact the school if you have any concerns.”
RIDGEWOOD SCHOOL
There have been a number of confirmed cases but the pupils concerned were already self isolating and the school remains open.
SIR THOMAS WHARTON
All Year 11 pupils have been sent home after a case was confirmed on Monday. A virtual open evening for parents is still due to take place.
KIRKBY AVENUE PRIMARY

Hide AdThe school will not re-open until after half term with a deep clean being undertaken after a number of cases in several bubbles were reported across the weekend.
TRINITY ACADEMY
Five year groups at the Thorne school have been put into self isolation. It is understood parents have since been told the entire school has now been closed. The Free Press is attempting to confirm the situation.
HUNGERHILL SCHOOL
There have been confirmed cases of Covid-19 within the Year 10 bubble. Letters have been circulated to all students as they need to self-isolate.
