11 coronavirus related deaths in Doncaster care homes, new figures reveal

A total of 11 people coronavirus related deaths have been reported by Doncaster care providers to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) according to new figures released today from the Office for National Statistics.
The data reveals every suspected or confirmed Covid-19 death reported by care homes in the town to the CQC, between April 10 to May 1.

Hide AdAccording to the latest set of figures, released by NHS England this afternoon, there have now been 107 deaths in the Doncaster hospital trust area, bringing the total number of people to die in Doncaster’s hospitals and care homes to 118.
Across South Yorkshire, 216 lives have been lost to coronavirus while in care facilities.
Sheffield has the highest number of coronavirus care home deaths in the region – accounting for more than half of the care home fatalities across South Yorkshire, with 123 deaths.
There were 54 Covid-19 related deaths reported by care homes in Rotherham and 28 people in Barnsley care homes have died from the disease.

Hide AdAcross the country, 6,391 coronavirus suspected deaths were reported by care home providers to the CQC.
It comes after 107 hospital patients in Doncaster are confirmed to have died after testing positive for the disease according to figures from NHS England.
This marks an increase of four deaths in the last 24 hour reporting period.
