The site offers a ‘blend of town and rural living’ with its location on Wheatley Hall Road meaning it’s close to both Doncaster town centre and the M18.

Ross Clarkson, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “We are pleased to announce that work has begun on Wheatley Hall Mews.

"The location is great for growing families and we expect that it will be popular with those looking to experience the benefits of rural living with a vibrant town also nearby.

“We’re excited to see Wheatley Hall Mews take shape and to welcome a new community to the area.”

Councillor Glyn Jones, Doncaster Council’s deputy mayor and cabinet member for Housing and Equalities, said: “This is tremendous news and further evidence of our ongoing commitment to support quality housing developments across the borough.

"Our Local Plan sets out ambitious targets of providing appropriate housing sites for the delivery of 920 homes a year which meet the needs and wants of our residents.

"This Taylor Wimpey scheme shows how we are guiding the right developments to the right places and will see another 145 quality homes built in Doncaster.”

Councillor Bill Mordue, cabinet member for Business, Skills and Economic Development at Doncaster Council, added: "This site had been vacant for a number of years but the council’s proactive approach to work with developers to support and enable appropriate new development has seen it become highly desirable for new homes.

“Taylor Wimpey’s scheme is the second on-site and shows just how attractive Doncaster is for developers and housebuilders despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The new development is due to launch in winter 2020.
