Cash boost for scheme to help ex-offenders back into employment in Isle of Axholme
The Empower Project, run by the Crosby Employment Bureau, received the money from the SSE North Lincolnshire Sustainable Development Fund and will cover the wider Scunthorpe area.
The SDF is provided as part of a community benefit programme from SSE’s Keadby Wind Farm and offers a funding pot of £170, 000 per year for the 25-year lifetime of the energy generating plant. Project leaders will use the money to expand their service to offer one-to-one support and training to help ex-offenders to earn a living.
