Doncaster toy collector buys figures he was denied as a child

Nathan Gale is an NHS support worker but in his spare time he collects toys and figurines.
The 34-year-old from Bentley, said: “I have always loved toys since being a young child.
“I started collecting figurines about four years ago.

Hide Ad“It all began when I started buying toys that my parents never let me have as a kid because they were too expensive.
“Now as an adult, they bring me joy and a sense of nostalgia.”
Nathan has accumulated around 150 which he proudly displays on a large bookcase in his home.
“Toys made when I was a child were so much better,” he continued.

Hide Ad“They have so much more fine detail and you just can’t get that quality anymore.”
He has a ‘series one’ Randy Savage figure in his collection which is 31 years old and worth about £60.
Nathan said: I have loved wrestling since I was a child and I consistently watch the matches.

Hide Ad“It’s a great hobby to have, I know a lot of people enjoy video games but this is what I love to do.”
Nathan also collects figures from Marvel Comics as he has a love of the franchise's films, in particular, Iron Man.
“I have three boys aged 10, four, and two,” he said.
“Some of the figures in my collection are as old as I am and I hope that shows them that toys can be durable if they are looked after.”
