Police confirmed they were called to Sandringham Road, Intake, this morning at around 8.45am to reports of an assault, and eye witnesses described how the attack spilled into the grounds of Sandringham Primary School, as pupils were arriving.
The school has this afternoon described the incident as ‘an issue with members of the community which unfortunately took place outside of the school and corresponded with the same time that pupils and families where entering the school building’.

It added that following police investigation, the school can confirm that no weapons were involved and due to some pupils witnessing this incident, pastoral support has been implemented.
Beryce Nixon, chief executive officer of the trust “Whilst these incidents can never be anticipated, the headteacher, school staff and members of the community have responded instantly ensuring the safety of all our pupils has been paramount.
"We are confident that this is an isolated incident and have received excellent support and reassurance from the police that this is the case. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for the way they handled the situation this morning and our parents for their ongoing support.”
