Chance to become a towpath ranger
Volunteers who would like to help make the historic Sheffield and Tinsley Canal a cleaner, more welcoming place to visit, are sought by a charity.
The Canal and River Trust is keen to hear from anyone who is interested in helping out as a towpath ranger on the canal that runs through Sheffield.

Rangers will cover two main areas, from Victoria Quays to Tinsley Marina, and from Meadowhall to Ickles Lock. They will be encouraged to get out on to their stretch regularly, either on a bike or by foot, whichever is preferable.
Becca Dent, volunteer coordinator for the Canal and River Trust, said: “The towpath rangers will play an invaluable role on the canal, helping to make sure that it’s looking its best as well as welcoming visitors and sharing their local knowledge.
“The rangers will cover a four-mile stretch of the canal so it’s a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, stay active and really make a difference to your local community.
