Beer festival next week -
ales, beers, porters, ciders and perries will be on offer at the popular Steel City Beer and Cider Festival.
International sports centre Ponds Forge will play host to the festival from Wednesday until October 6.
There will be 150 real cask ales on offer.
It is the 38th Steel City Beer Festival.

Beer petition gains ground
A Petition calling for the abandonment of the beer duty escalator has hit more than 100,000 signatures.
This means a parliamentary debate will take place about the tax placed on beer.
Beer drinkers are penalised by duty levels increasing above inflation each year - with tax on beer up by more than 40 per cent since 2008. A third of every pub pint is swallowed in tax.
Take That and Party in town
they’ll be a Million Love Songs when a Take That tribute band play at a Doncaster hotel.
Top band Simply Take That will perform on October 6 at the Earl of Doncaster in Bennetthorpe.
Tickets to the gig including a three-course meal cost £29.95 per person.

Doncaster band In Fear Of Olive is playing at a Doncaster pub tomorrow night. The popular group will play the Masons’ Arms in Market Place. The Soul Train will perform at the same venue on Saturday night.
New nights to start

Singer Michael Stanfield is playing at a Doncaster pub. The award-winning Canadian is performing at The White Swan in West Laith Gate on October 7 from 4pm.
It’s Huddersfield’s turn to put on a beer festival next weekend. The CAMRA festival takes place from October 4 to October 6 at the Sikh Leisure Centre. There will be about 90 real ales from around the country on offer. Admission £8 for CAMRA members.
