The Gainsborough Choral Society’s season starts on Thursday September 3 with rehearsals for the first concert on November 14, when they perform Haydn’s 18th century masterpiece The Creation.

Rehearsals are held on Thursday nights throughout the school terms (September to March) from 7.30pm to 9.15pm at Queen Elizabeth’s High School, Morton Terrace, Gainsborough, DN21 2ST.

If you would like to join in new members are always welcome tenors and basses particularly. There are no voice trials or auditions necessary, just get in touch with secretary Deirdre Speed on 07710 535 725 or email info@gainsboroughcs.co.uk.

If, on the other hand, you don’t want to sing regularly but would like to learn a few familiar old favourites a day-long workshop has been arranged with Sue Hollingworth at Glentworth Village Hall on Sunday October 18 from 10am to 4pm, for which there is a charge of £10. For more information, please contact Pam Tatam 01427 668412 or Carolyn Walton 01427 668418.
