Sheffield’s Owlerton Greyhound Stadium will be showing its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community with a special offer.

On Armed Forces Day, Saturday June 25, Owlerton Stadium will be offering all veterans or members of the armed forces free admission, a racecard and drink.

Armed Forces Day, formerly Veterans’ Day, is an annual event which was first held in 2006 to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.

Owlerton Stadium, in Hillsborough, is Yorkshire’s top race track welcoming more than 300,000 visitors every year. It hosts greyhound racing on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

John Gilburn, managing director of Owlerton Stadium, said: “This offer is our way of helping to mark the incredible contributions that our Armed Forces make to the country.

“We are proud to be supporting Armed Forces Day and we hope that many people take advantage of a free evening out at Owlerton and enjoy a top night watching the exciting action on the track.”

On the same day, the Owlerton Stadium team will be handing out goody bags at the new Sheffield on Show event at Hillsborough Park.

The offer is valid for those with a Military ID card or British Veterans Recognition Card. For more information Click here or call 0114 234 3074.
