Doncaster Amateur Operatic Society will make its debut in the new Cast theatre with its production of The Sound of Music, from March 5 to 8.

Central to the popular musical about the Von Trapp family singers is, of course, the ‘family of seven children’ - except the society has no less than 13!

While Liesl is played by Paris Guest in every performance, there are two teams of children alternating the other six roles.

Over 80 children auditioned before the talented final 13 were selected. Ranging in age from seven to 18, they are currently busy in rehearsal.

Society spokeswoman Frances Lister said: “We saw such talented youngsters, it was difficult to choose our final teams.”
