A glitzy makeover treat was the perfect pick-me-up for Jackie Grainger.
Jackie won a £150 revamp by Simply Be in Doncaster after entering a competition in the Free Press.
She was invited to the store in the Frenchgate Centre store for a hair, make-up and style transformation.
“I’d just had a bereavement so I didn’t feel up to going, but I felt a lot better when I left,” said Jackie, of Straight Lane, Goldthorpe.
“They were very nice to me and helped me pick some clothes out. I went for a dress because I don’t do trousers and I needed a new winter coat so I got that too along with a pair of shoes.”
With help from the Simply Be team, Jackie tried on a number of dresses but fell in love with a beautiful spot mesh dress. Teamed with a pair of classic courts and a Joe Browns coat to add some warmth this winter, Jackie was feeling a million dollars.
Doncaster-based make up artist Beauty By Blondie was on hand and completed Jackie’s new look with a fresh face of make up and a hair restyle.
“It made me feel a lot better about myself and it cheered me up a bit,” said Jackie, 61.
“It was lovely to do something different and it was great fun picking out new styles and trying on items I wouldn’t have thought would suit me before.”
Simply Be assistant manager Amanda Zeufak said: “Jackie and I went through a selection of dresses and we ended up picking a fitted dress that really flattered her figure and then paired it with some low court shoes.
“The outfit could be worn for both day and night, and I was so pleased that Jackie left in her new outfit.”
