First half tries from Ryan Guest, Gaz Burns and Jonny Woodcock – who converted two – gave Wheatley a 19-0 advantage at the break.

Woodcock, Guest and Burns all added second tries while Ryan Richardson also got in on the act.

Wath upon Dearne were brought back down to earth with a bump in Yorkshire One with a 37-24 defeat at Ilkley.

Braces from Ryan Peacey and Craig Deakin plus an Adrian Sheehan try gave Phoenix the win.

Centre Olly Cox scored a try, conversion and penalty in the second half to leave the score 22-10.

Tries from Mark Hunt, Bruce Drennan and Marcel Dent added some respectability to the scoreline for Adwick le Street in a 39-17 defeat at Garforth in Yorkshire Five.

And Rossington Hornets lost 16-6 to Sheffield Oaks.
