Doncaster Demons’ RUFC suffered a 39-5 loss at the hands of Coalville Ladies.

The Demons were on the backfoot early on and were forced to defend in their own half for 15 minutes which eventually took its toll as Coalville scored in the corner.

Demons were under attack again and gave themselves a mountain to climb as Coalville scored two further tries.

Laura Bailey found herself at full-back under the pressure of stopping Coalville crossing the line and she stepped up to the challenge despite it being a two-on-one situation.

Bailey was tested further throughout the half but showed her ability as he frustrated Coalville in their attacks.

Strong runs from Kirsty Bleyting also caused the visitors problems with Demons captain Kerstin Zindler leading from the front.

Bailey stepped up into fly-half and gave Doncaster new direction in the game as the Demons tried to get back into the game.

After a well set-up maul from Laura Gray, the Demons put their training into practice as Doncaster were camped on the tryline before a slow ball to Fallon Harrison saw her crash over the whitewash for their try.

Despite a battling performance, Coalville ran out comfortable winners.

Demons handed their players’ player of the game to debutant Poppy Grix with Laura Bailey picking up the captain’s player.
