Doncaster Knights overcame horrendous weather conditions and a plucky Richmond outfit to secure another valuable bonus point win.

Knights were slow starters as the heavens opened at Castle Park but recovered to lead 15-6 at the break with tries from Michael Hills and Matt Challinor.

Late scores from Bruno Bravo and Glen Kenworthy sealed the National One leaders’ 12th straight win at home.

“That was an example of how to play for the full eighty minutes,” said director of rugby Clive Griffiths.

“After the first ten minutes we were 6-0 down but from that point on we’ve won the game 27-3.

“Defensively we were very good today.

“We warmed up in sunshine and kicked off in a monsoon so the conditions played a part today.

“But I’m really pleased with the how the lads grafted.

“The fowards especially did us proud today with a number of driving lineouts.

“We got our rewards. It was especially pleasing to get the bonus point, given the conditions.”
