DUNSCROFT featherweight Gavin McDonnell clinched his third successive victory since starting out as a professional four months ago with a one-sided points win over Darlington southpaw Adam Hutchinson.
McDonnell dominated the four-rounder at the Barnsley Metrodome but could not put his opponent away despite knocking him down in the last round with a big right hand.
The 25-year-old, who is the twin brother of European bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell, continued his progress with a slick display while Hutchinson just seemed happy to survive until the final bell.
There was no dispute about the verdict at the end with referee Michael Alexander giving McDonnell every round with a 40-35 points score card.
In fact McDonnell has yet to lose a round in his three fights so far.
His brother was in the crowd to cheer him on and Jamie McDonnell could be in line for a title defence soon against British champion Stuart Hall.
