THORNE Colliery fell further off the pace of Division Three promotion chase after coming off best at Hensall

Some solid knocks by Steve Robinson (41) and Richard Whaley (52) ensured Hensall posted a total of 175.

Mark Walton snared 3-58, James Stewart 2-56 and Kerry Bissell 2-38.

Colliery never got into gear, Walton (32), Carl Walton (16) and Bissell (16) the only batsmen to shine as they hung on at 124-9.

Tim Heneghan took 3-13 for the hosts.

n The runs flowed when Sykehouse visited Frickley Colliery but they had to settle for eight points.

Phil Townsend, who plundered two sixes and 14 fours in a superb unbeaten 106, led the Sykehouse innings.

Phil Sanders (54) and a quickfire 62 not out from Richard Copley sent the score soaring to 305-4.

Frickley also had a centurion in Keith Whitehouse, whose 121 not out included 20 boundaries.

But they could not match the required tempo, James Handley (43) shining as they responded with 197-4.

Richard Munroe captured 3-32.

n Hatfield Town saw their Division Two promotion hopes hit as they were comfortably beaten by fellow chasers Monk Bretton at Carrside Lane.

A 75 run haul from Daniel Ogden send Monk Bretton on their way to an imposing 240-8 total on a day which seemed to be one for the bowlers.

Christopher Liddle led the way with a steady 61 in Hatfield’s response but they fell well short on 169 to lose ground on the promotion pack.

n Fishlake cruised to a nine wicket win at Hooton Pagnell in Division One.

Apart from Luke Lodge (39), the home batsmen offered little defence to some accurate Fishlake bowling and were all out for 133.

Leading the bowling was Matthew Windass, who snared 4-40.

An unbeaten 82 by Peter Butterworth, together with Kevin Pearson (38), guided Fishlake to 137-1 and maximum points.

Matthew Harrison claimed the wicket for 36 runs.
