Week three saw a disappointing result between Hawthorn and Rhinos, writes league secretary John Mitchell.
Unfortunately the Rhinos did not arrive due to an oversight in that Hawthorn had changed their home games to Tuesday and therefore Rhinos were forced to concede, 5-0.
Rostholme versus Woodlands Snooker went the way of the hosts (4-1) with Roy Buxton and Dave North scoring 76 and 72 respectively. Albert Bingham took the last frame for the visitors - only their second frame of the season so far.
A good match ensued between White Hart and Intake with all games being close encounters. Intake eventually ran out 3-2 winners.
Scawthorpe went 2-1 up against West End before John McWilliams and Rob Savory took the last two frames for a 3-2 win to the hosts.
Catholic versus Top Club went down to the last frame. Joe King won it to give the visitors a 3-2 victory.
The Trades carried on their winning ways with another 4-1 success, this time against Hyde Park, despite John Orwin taking the opening frame for the away side.
HP Warriors and Askern was a close call with three games being won with scores of 60, 70 and 77. Fran Crusack took the final frame to help the Warriors claim a 3-2 victory.
Hatfield struggled against an in-form Barnby Dun, losing 4-1 despite Brian Blaydon’s best efforts to win a frame.
