Hatfield Main Club are in pole position to win the Doncaster & District Over 55s Snooker League after a 4-1 win at bottom side Woodlands Snooker.

Mally Robson, Tony Lanni, Stuart Elland and John Galbraith all won frames for the league leaders.

Paul Teague defeated Brian Blaydon to prevent a whitewash.

Hatfield’s comfortable victory leaves them five points clear of Askern Sports with just four rounds of fixtures remaining.

Second-placed Askern suffered a big setback in their title bid after they went down 3-2 at home to Trades Club.

Alan Marley, Brian Hoole and Tom Hodby won frames for Trades Club, with Phil Spencer and Pete Spencer responding with valuable frame victories for the hosts.

Bentley West End and Wheatley Club are tied on 87 points in third and fourth place respectively.
