Promoted Doncaster Toll Bar romped to a second successive Pennine Amateur Rugby League Championship One win of the season, beating visiting Dewsbury Moor 64-8.

Man-of-the-match Steve Mills notched a hat trick with Tom Holt and Gaz Carey both bagging a brace.

Former Dons captain Craig Lawton, Joel Dilley Jordan King, Karl Mills, Shaun Roberts also touched down.

Holt took his points tally to 24 with eight goals.

“It was a really outstanding all-round performance against a good team,” said coach Ian Tattersall.

“From the first minute we were in control and the most pleasing thing of all was that we applied the things we had spoken about in training and before the game.

“Defensively we were physical but also technically good.

“It was another good win but it’s really important we keep our feet on the ground and keep working hard.”

The club’s recently-formed second string set a new club record, winning 100-0 against Dearne Valley Bulldogs A to make it three wins from their opening three Division Six East games.

Adam Jones led the way with a five-try haul.

Phil Harrison, Dean Roberts (2), Wayne Southgate (2), Matt Day (2), Jack Hopkinson, Jamie Moore, Mitchell Garrity and John Carr also touched down for the league leaders.

Phil Harrison (9), Dean Roberts (2) and Dom Riley converted 12 of the 19 tries between them.

Moorends Thorne Marauders suffered a 68-0 Division Three defeat at Stanningley.

Meanwhile, the club have secured a further two-year sponsorship deal with Warrington based JKSP Electrical Services.
