Marauders demolish Raiders

MOORENDS-Thorne Marauders continued their quest to end the season on a high with a 76-18 mauling of Kingsley Raiders.

The Marauders were ahead after just four minutes when great handling sent Andy Cook clear in the corner and Ryan Rafferty kicked the first of ten successful conversions on the afternoon.

Kingsley drew level after a fumble from the kick off but Moorends surged ahead with tries from Mark Roach, Chris Allen and Matty Bingley all touching down.

The Raiders did manage another converted try but were well behind at the break as further scores from Allen and a Shaun Carver double left the Marauders in a commanding 38-12 stance.

Moorends would restrict Kinglsey to one converted try in the second half and dominated on the scoring front themselves.

Carver took his tally to four tries while Bingley completed his hat trick alongside scores for Steve Allen, Chris Allen and David Chowing.
