THERE was a two-way tie at the Isle of Axholme Golf Society’s recent outing to the Owston Hall (Robin Hood) course.
Players overcame blustery and wet conditions to take part in the usual single and team medal formats.
The two-way tie for first place saw Steve Green declared the winner with a net score of 74, after a count back, and Peter Wilkinson was runner-up with Brian Ward’s 78 securing third place.
Nearest the pin competition on hole three was won by Martin large and the longest drive, on hole nine, saw Andrew Cronshaw emerge triumphant.
Best team comprised Ward, Tom Sanders, Margaret Rylatt and Steve Moore with an average score of 79.75.
The next society outing will be at Bawtry Golf Course on Wednesday, November 16, for the Peter D Ludbrook Memorial Trophy.
There will be coffee and bacon rolls before play starts at 10.30am and soup and sandwiches afterwards. All members and their guests are welcome.
