DUNSCROFT featherweight Gavin McDonnell will be hoping to continue the unbeaten start he has made to his professional career against fellow rookie Adam Hutchinson on Friday night.
The 25-year-old will make his third career outing when he steps between the ropes at Barnsley Metrodome.
McDonnell – twin brother of European bantamweight champion Jamie – stole the show in his last bout at Doncaster Dome last month as he convincingly outpointed Pavels Senkovs over six two minute rounds.
He looked classy and demonstrated many of the attributes that his brother has used to achieve three major title triumphs.
McDonnell will be confident of adding another victory to his record as Darlington fighter Hutchinson has been stopped in both of his previous two bouts.
Meanwhile, brother Jamie McDonnell returned to full time training this week and looks likely to defend his Commonwealth bantamweight title before returning to European competition in the summer.
