Thorne Colliery managed to salvage four points from a 44 runs home defeat by Allerton Bywater in Division 3 of the Pontefract and District .

The visitors, led by Paul Wadworth (50), Mick Wade (34) and John Ding (21), made a total of 147.

Mazhar Mir captured 5-18, Matthew Cockburn taking 2-30, Mark Walton 2-43 and 14-year-old Luke Cocklburn 1-9.

An unbeaten half century from Chris Broughton underpinned the Colliery reply, but Mazhar Mir (12) and Michael Sellars (10) were the only others to shine as they were sent back for 103.

Andy Kunkel picked up 3-28 and Matt Weaver 3-15.

Thorne host Thurnscoe Institute this Saturday, wickets pitched 1.30pm.

Having put a good score on the board, Fishlake found themselves outgunned by Monk Bretton in Division 4, going down by six wickets.

Max Hudson (45), Ryan Pearson (55), Mick Robinson (51) and Andy Teasdale (42), led the home side in posting 248-6.

Most successful visiting bowler was James Taylor with 3-68 from 14 overs.

It was James Taylor (93) who spearheaded the Monk Bretton response, Simon Iredale (77) also shining as they reached 250-4 in the penultimate over.

Phil Wood took 2-51.
