FISHLAKE Cricket Club warmed up for the Pontefract and District Cricket League season with a friendly defeat to leading local side Doncaster Town.
The Pinfold Lane side – who finished fifth in Division One last term – open their league campaign with a trip to title chasing Streethouse.
And they showed their own ability to contest for honours despite being defeated.
Adrian Gordon and Peter Moores led the bowling charge to help restrict Doncaster to 163-9.
Gordon claimed 4-48 with Moores taking 3-44.
A third wicket stand of 81 from Shahid Khan and 16-year-old James Dobson provided the main chunk of the Doncaster score.
Khan hit 43 with Dobson adding a brilliant 54.
Fishlake were never really in the hunt and were eventually bowled out for 122 in the 36th over.
Stuart Coleman top scored with 17 while Doncaster spinners Jonathan Redfern and Duncan Jones claimed 3-20 and 3-24 respectively.
