Doncaster Rovers will have the full backing of their friends at Doncaster RLFC today.

For Sunday’s Championship clash at home to Barrow Raiders has been designated as ‘Rovers Day’ to mark the two clubs conjoining under the Club Doncaster banner.

And organisers are keeping their fingers crossed the occasion will turn into a celebration of both the Dons’ excellent start to life back in the second tier and, hopefully, Rovers maintaining their own Championship status.

Rovers fans can claim a discounted £10 ticket for Sunday’s game by presenting their season ticket book, a Rovers match ticket stub (home or away) or their Alliance membership card at the Keepmoat Stadium ticket office.

Children aged under 16 will be admitted for free with any purchased ticket.

Organisers have planned a Rovers-themed fun day ahead of the 3pm kick off, including mascot races, supporter challenges and the chance to win Rovers and Dons memorabilia.

Meanwhile, Liam Welham says the Dons must not take their eye off the ball against Barrow.

The two sides have had contrasting starts to the season with Doncaster sitting pretty in third with six wins out of eight, while struggling Barrow prop up the division.

“Barrow will be a tough game,” said Welham.

“It is important not to fall into a trap because they are bottom.

“Looking back to when we played Featherstone at the Keepmoat, they went into the game expecting to win and we turned them over.

“It’s games like Sunday that we need to win, we can’t afford to lose points.

“The team are rested, fresh and prepared for the game.”
