Doncaster ladies got their promotion push back on track with a 9-0 rout of Didsbury.

Bexx Woods was the star of the show with a hat trick in an easy home win for the Town Field club.

Charlotte Dodds, Fiona Bolland, Millie Milton and Sarah Thorpe also got on the scoresheet as Doncaster bounced back from a surprise defeat at home to Kendal the previous weekend.

The victory saw Doncaster consolidate their four-point lead at the top of the table as they continue to push for promotion back to the National League.

Doncaster travel to bottom of the league Bowdon on Saturday (3pm).

n Second-placed Bowden scored with the last hit of the game to beat Doncaster’s men 2-1 in a tense and hard fought game.

Doncaster went 1-0 up with their first penalty corner after just six minutes, with Marcus Hooper finding the net.

The Town Field club held Bowdon for long periods, despite coming under immense pressure.

But they buckled mid-way through the second half when Ben White scored from a penalty corner.

The winner came after Doncaster’s appeals for a last minute penalty corner were turned away and Bowdon then went the full length of the pitch to score with the last move of the game.

The goal came from the stick of former Sheffield player Will Hearne.

The defeat leaves Doncaster in fourth place in Conference North with one game remaining before the Christmas break. They host Durham University on Sunday (2pm).

n Doncaster won the South Yorkshire Under 10s In2 Minis tournament in style.

They won all three of their games without conceding a goal, defeating Sheffield (1-0), Rotherham (2-0) and Chapeltown (5-0).
