Haxey firsts were beaten in their bottom of the table clash to fellow strugglers Hartsholme.

A second successive win for Hartsholme was helped by Kit Spence who hit an unbeaten 86 leading to 270/7 - which proved too much for Haxey to handle.

The Isle side, who remain second from bottom, were all out for 168 but had strong performances from Joe Scott, who made 65, as Joshua Savage claimed 22 runs before being bowled and Frederick Stevens made 20. Haxey’s star bowler was Henry Rush who claimed five for 69.

The firsts next welcome league leaders Woodhall Spa on Saturday. The match starts from 12.30pm.
