Haxey Seconds continued to dominate their league with another win, this time over Keelby CC’s first team.
The side travelled to face their Lincolnshire County League Second Division counterparts who had been applying the pressure on the top performers this season.
But league leaders Haxey cruised to victory in style as they claimed the points, winning by 35 runs.
Haxey batted first with Jeremy Evans and Jonathan Stanser leading by example as the opening duo claimed 42 not out and 78 respectively.
Keelby struggled early on as the first wicket did not fall before 111-1 when Stanser was bowled.
A momentary lapse saw Anthony Fleet caught by Mark Wade and Mark Metcalfe out for ducks before Scott Barlow enjoyed a strong 34. He then fell victim to Liam Skipworth’s bowl.
Graham Skelton added 43 as Tom Smith recorded 14 not out and Andrew Steeper and Wasim Ahmed finished proceedings for 247.
The hosts’ Danny Bevis proved their star batsman, hitting 75 before Andrew Steeper’s solitary wicket.
Gary Mann then clinched one of his three wickets as Sean Campbell (52) was caught by Haxey’s Graham Skelton.
Mann was in fine form, picking up 3-27 as Stanser and Ahmed had two wickets each seeing Keelby all out for 212.
