Promoter Stefy Bull has set his sights on a blockbuster clash between Doncaster’s two top heavyweight fighters.

Bull wants to pit Dave Allen and Carl Spencer against each other at the Dome on September 6 and is willing to secure the vacant Central Area heavyweight title to add to the spoils.

Both men are undefeated prospects, tipped to trouble the domestic elite.

And Bull believes there is no bigger fight for Doncaster that could currently be made.

“I want to put on fights that will excite people and I don’t think there is another one out there around here that would get people talking like this,” Bull told the Star.

“I can’t remember the last proper heavyweight fight in Doncaster, particularly with a local lad in it.

“These two are Doncaster lads, both big hitting kids and neither of them is a mug.

“There’s always a buzz about big heavyweight fights and this would be a massive one for the town. I don’t think it would go the distance.”

Bull says he has had tentative talks with Dennis Hobson, who manages both men, about making the bout.

He said: “I’m willing to make this a co-promotion with Dennis in order to make the fight happen.

“I’m really excited about the prospect of this fight.”

Conisbrough’s Allen has not yet fought in Doncaster as a professional while Bentley’s Spencer was on the undercard of Jamie McDonnell’s IBF world title win at the Keepmoat in what was his last fight.

Allen has six wins and a draw from seven fights while Spencer has won all four of his bouts.
